Sydney Pooley (Jim) Mace

Everyone always called Sydney "Jim".

 I am not sure how this happened but his real name was Sydney.

 

(Jim hated having his picture taken so we do not have any good photos of him)

Sydney was born on October 11, 1903 in Ohio. 

He died on May 5th 1986 in Seminole Florida.

His parents were Herbert Mace  and Minnie Tyler. 

According to the census he lived in Penn's Grove, Salem, New Jersey in 1920. 
 He was 15 years old  in 1920. 

Sydney had 4 brothers and 1 sister :

  Around 1931 Sydney married Goldie Mae Boswell (1910-1983) 

  In this photo Goldie was about 17 yrs. old
Goldie's father was William Boswell

 

Her mother was Aggie Trail.

Goldie had 10 siblings:
Albert, Clyde, Bernell, Jenny, Aubrey, Barney, Sophie, Pansy, Nettie and Nellie.  Their mother Aggie died in 1929 when Nellie was about 9 months old. As the oldest girl Goldie had to raise her siblings until she got married.
 

They had 9 live children:

Fern Emma Mace 1932-2002

Fern with her son Earl Mace.

Earl Sydney Mace 1933-

Earl married Sherry Jeffery. They had Timmy, Terry and Teresa.

Mel Alfred Mace 1935-

        Mel married Betty Flanagan picture below with his mother Goldie.

Mel & Betty had two children, Linda & Rocky.

Cyril Bertram Mace 1936-
(Mel is on left, Cyril (Boyce) is on right)

Boyce married Billy Ann Adair and they had three children, Mark, Lynn and Cindy. Mark was killed by a police officer around 1983, Lynn was killed in a motorcycle accident in 1999, she had two daughters Kara & Kristi.

Viola Irene Mace 1938-

 

Irene married George Kerns and they had 6 children

Tammy, Georgianna,  Randy, Danny, Margie & Shannon.

Georgianna & Randy. Randy died in 2014.

Donald Alfred Mace 1941-

 

      Donnie Married Barbara and they had one son Shane.

Clyde Walter Mace 1942- 

Clyde married Linda Smith and they had two sons, Tulsa & Chance. Linda died in 2003 from brain cancer.

 

 Keomi Gentey Mace 1948-

Keomi (Tina) married Jim Ogletree

Beatrice Willowminno Mace 1949-1966

Bea (Peaches) was killed in a car accident in 1966. She was with her boyfriend Reggie Wesley. They were engaged to be married but were killed before their wedding.
